Dover Navigators is an open youth group affiliated to UK Navigators. UK Navigators’ application of scouting follows Robert Baden Powell’s famous guidance of “Look wide. Then look wider still.” We look to broaden horizons and help young people realise the possibilities available to them if they open their eyes and minds. Navigators welcome all races, religions and genders, but itself follows no stated religious or political path

Dover Navigators is a fully independent group with local trustees and local Leadership. Navigators work with young people to provide a wide range of activities and events. Dover Navigators currently meets at Temple Ewel Village Hall, but membership comes from Deal, Dover, St Margarets at Cliffe and other surrounding villages. All of our adult volunteers are DBS checked, and leaders are required to undertake suitable training for their role.

The Focus

The main Focus of UK Navigators is the development of young people by encouraging them to follow a Moral Compass. Put simply, we encourage our members to “do the right thing”.

UK Navigators is based on a movement that began in the USA, where the Boy Scouts of America has for many years carried on an exclusive membership, that disenfranchised many young people and adults. Navigators is an open movement and welcomes all races, religions and genders, but itself follows no stated religious or political path.

Our members get up to a wide range of activities from Bushcraft to Art and Crafts. From Sailing to Abseiling. Limited only by the imagination of our young people and enthusiasm of our adults. Children can obtain a number of badges or rewards designed around them or just elect to try out new experiences.

Moral Compass

As a Navigator, I promise to do my best to create a world free of prejudice and ignorance.

To treat people of every race, creed, lifestyle and ability with dignity and respect.

To strengthen my body and improve my mind to reach my fiull potential.

To protect our planet and preserve our freedom.

Our Slogan

“The more you give the more you get.”

Our Motto

“Stay on course.”
